A Season of Big Expansion at the Food Pantry
Updated: Apr 7, 2023
It's a busy first quarter at Backpack Society and we are experiencing much growth and expansion. We have extended our school and district outreach and are partnering with exciting new sponsors. Our team is growing and we are working hard to expand our tech and marketing knowledge. With all this growth we are getting ready to expand our BPS pantry this spring!
Expanding Our Minds
June, our Founder & Executive Director and Nikki, our Director of Marketing are dabbling in the digital marketing world and growing their tech knowledge. They are taking a project-based course with Promineo Tech that blends marketing theory and practical experience.
This class puts heavy emphasis on:
Marketing Funnel
Conversions
Social Media
Email Marketing
Branding
UX Design
Google Analytics
We cannot wait to see June and Nikki put their new skills into action! Thank you to Promineo Tech for donating this amazing opportunity. The Digital Marketing Bootcamp is available on-line at Arapahoe Community College.
Expanding our School Outreach
Backpack Society currently partners with 42 schools in 3 districts. We recently added a few schools in the Cherry Creek School District and continue to serve schools in Douglas County School District and Littleton Public Schools. We are so thankful to all of our donors and sponsors who help us meet the after school and weekend hunger needs of hundreds of students.
Expanding our Space & Team
As our BPS team and school outreach continues to grow, so does our need for more room. A much needed expansion is in the works for our pantry. We are making a hole in the wall and taking over the space next door. Stay tuned for updates on a grand re-opening celebration!
In order to expand our location, we needed to expand our team. We are very excited to announce that Laura Linville has accepted the role of Director of Development & Juli Ettwein accepted the role of Director of Operations. We couldn't do it without the dedication of these wonderful ladies!
